About Us: Bridging the Solar System
Our Mission & Vision
At Tolero Networks, we envision a fully interconnected future for space communications: a commercial and highly resilient space-based network that connects human explorers and scientific payloads anywhere in the solar system. Our mission is to become the premier global Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software provider for the emerging space networking economy and critical tactical networks on Earth.
Our goal is a vibrant, profitable ecosystem where device manufacturers, space agencies, and commercial operators use Tolero's software to maintain a secure, interconnected multi-party Solar System Internet and manage physically secure and resilient commercial DTNs.
Our Product Suite
Tolero Networks focuses on providing commercial software products, libraries, and tools to enable device manufacturers to build standards-compliant hardware for space and tactical deployments. Our core offerings will include:
- Network Device Software (Kernel): Embedded C/C++
software implementing the control, management, and data planes for
advanced space protocol stacks.
- Hardware-Agnostic Baseline (HAB): Optimized for systems without strict real-time deadlines.
- Kernel Plugins: Pre-built additions for application-layer gateways, legacy network compatibility, custom operating systems, and premium secure data-management overlays.
- Operations & Management Applications: Operational backend services and operator-facing dashboard tools that integrate with ground control centers to schedule contacts, track device health, configure nodes, and establish local, autonomous on-board behaviors.
Executive Leadership & Founders
To build a robust space internet, we have gathered a world-class team of internet pioneers, embedded systems architects, and space flight software veterans.
Dr. Vinton G. Cerf
Widely recognized as one of the "fathers of the Internet," Vint co-developed the TCP/IP protocol suite that powers the terrestrial internet. For nearly three decades, Vint has spearheaded the development of the Bundle Protocol and interplanetary internet architectures.
Dr. Edward Birrane
A leading space network engineer, Ed served as the Principal Investigator on the Common Overlay Router (COR) project. He continues to chair international standards efforts and oversee the architecture of our hardware-agnostic baseline (HAB) kernel.
Fabiha Kumari
Fabiha manages our day-to-day corporate operations, and partner integrations, steering Tolero's strategic growth as a commercial OEM leader.
BJ Foster
BJ brings extensive high-growth corporate finance experience to Tolero, overseeing our financial projections, licensing model audits, and capitalization strategies.
